Why in the sweet name of Allah is it that my wicker baskets or chairs have not been hit by on single decay strike since the beginning of this world, while I have to set out a whole day every week just to repair my palisades. I'm all for decay, but can we at least be reasonable here?
Secondly, something should be done about trees. I've seen entire forests wiped out by griefers and (mostly) people trying to gain LP.
Trees DO NOT need humans to propagate in real life, and I see no reason why trees shouldn't multiply naturally in the game. I don't see people building cloning vats to stabilise the bunny population, and so should it be with regard to trees. That, or allow a 24 hour time span before trees die on a herbalist table.

Re: On trees and palisades
i have walled off 2 minimaps in size with a palisade and get maybe 5, 6 wall piece that decay daily
if i went once a week to repair the wall it would take 20mins tops, only if you wall off half a supergrid would you spend a full day every week to maintain it, but with that size you shouldnt expect anything else anyway.
on the tree part though i agree.

i also wonder why it takes one to kill a tree in order to make a herbilist table. With trees being a finite foundational building block you would think you wouldn't need to kill trees in order to grow more trees. I deffinantly would vote for Auto spawn of trees. i mean hell if every 24 hour period every tree has a 1% chance to spawn a sapling in it's vicinity(like the beehive range) i would be emmensly happy. of course if said sapling has no place to grow, then it wouldn't spawn there.
now back on subject, does anybody still build palasides? from what i read they're becoming obsolete. . . Am i wrong on this?

Implement speed tree in HnH.

If I were to build a new settlement I'd build a palisade but I'd want to upgrade it to a brick wall as soon as I had anything I wanted to protect in it.joojoo1975 wrote:now back on subject, does anybody still build palasides? from what i read they're becoming obsolete. . . Am i wrong on this?
It's still a reasonable investment for someone who just started playing to get to the stage where they can bust open a palisade (assuming they don't have help), but there are enough veteran aggressive players now that palisades are not protection against the majority of threats.

It's not too hard to reforest areas if you have a lot of herb tables made. 10 herb tables=40 trees. You could plant roughly 120 trees a day if you check back three times during a given day & most people at this point have access to internet in just about everywhere unless you live in a third world country. it's especially easy if you're just going to use them for supplies and not pay attention to the Q materials you use. If you do this once a day for 7 days that's 840 trees which will last you quite a long time. Annnd! If you plant them in the right areas they shouldn't take too long toe grow.Wylos wrote:Why in the sweet name of Allah is it that my wicker baskets or chairs have not been hit by on single decay strike since the beginning of this world, while I have to set out a whole day every week just to repair my palisades. A 1% ratio would be quite high if you think about it & consider the variable of the monstrous amount of trees out there which would make them spawn at what would seem like an impossibly high expontential rate.joojoo1975 wrote:i mean hell if every 24 hour period every tree has a 1% chance to spawn a sapling in it's vicinity(like the beehive range) i would be emmensly happy. of course if said sapling has no place to grow, then it wouldn't spawn there.Skorm wrote:+1

I'm Totally for a slower decay rate on Palisades though.. and everything else for that matter. It's kind of ridiculous. it's nice to have a lot of realism but not if it gets to the point of annoying. "Obsolete"? Never. A big % of Haven players probably doesn't have access to brick wall supplies & the only alternative seems to only be Palisade.
Ram's kind of take away the point of having a wall at all but I kind of like the thought as it's kind of like. If you're being careless enough not to check out your surroundings and someone rolls in with a dried ram and knocks down your wall you deserve it. Especially since it takes a LONG time to dry a ram.theTrav wrote:If I were to build a new settlement I'd build a palisade but I'd want to upgrade it to a brick wall as soon as I had anything I wanted to protect in it.joojoo1975 wrote:now back on subject, does anybody still build palasides? from what i read they're becoming obsolete. . . I think it's too early in World 3 for people to have the ability to knock down a wooden palisade on their own without exploiting/grieving. I could be wrong though. I've heard some people that practically play this game 24/7 so who knows what stats they have obtained.

yes, pallisades became obsolete, besides new player its pointless, i like the realism on the game, but since when a man whit a pickaxe can tear down a wall ?, unless you have a brick wall preatty much any active player can enter
