Im talking about everything, trees/clay/soil..

If there are no other good places then people will be forced to steal from you

There is no such thing as sharing. Every time a resource if harvested, it reduces. By your argument, everyone who wanders into the grid should be allowed to "share" the good clay. If they do that, then pretty soon it won't be good clay anymore. The advantage Bottleneck offers is that you can setup without having your village raided and destroyed, which is a safety some people want.

Domo wrote:like i said befor but you have offered people to come up there to be safe, its fine that there safe but without all the stuff they need there going to get killed up there for stealing clay/water/blah.

Have you ever heard of... trade? All most villages need is land to grow crops and create high Q trees. They can make do with low Q clay for a long time and if they play it smart, trade up to better Q and improve their trade options. No it's not as easy as simply finding a high Q spot and claiming it but then we're back to going out on your own and getting killed by raiders.

Sabinati, the gold for carrots thing you're suggesting is dangerously close to trade, aka capitalism. If you're really a capitalist, then I'd rather buy rope from you /Stalin

Wow this one got amazingly off topic. Regardless though, I'm not saying I don't see your point. You're offering limited security to people who want to shack up and be your neighbors. Perhaps it was purely unintentional but the way you came across about it was a little gruff. Apparently Domo even caught the whole 'you can move in here as long as you don't take any of the good resources' apparent undertone.

I'm sure this was purely unintentional, but I kind of read it that way too. Granted I assumed this wasn't exactly what you meant, its the way it sounded. Everyone pushing the point and turning it into a bunch of garbage regarding communism and such seems a bit stupid really. Not to defend or accuse anyone much there.

Sadly it's another thread that got way off topic. I think the part that needs to be focused on is that the thread was talking about a village getting raided, and for better or worse Potjeh was offering a method of getting some security against raiders. It was a good enough intention and should be left alone at that.
If rules were meant to be broken we would have called them ribs instead.
