How do I get shoot?

Or, how do I get the ability to use the sling I just got? Is there a skill I should put stuff in for that?

Also, does the sling need ammo?

I think the Hunting skill gives you the Shoot ability, which you use on targets (usually ones that can't reach you, since archery is very slow at first). Put points in Marksmanship for faster aiming, and I think perception increases minimum damage dealt when you actually hit things.

The sling should be in one of your hand slots, and you'll need stones in your backpack as ammo.
