How many hearthlings will you create?

With the start of the new world, it's also time to create new hearthlings (fun fun!!).
Since there is a constant discussion on this forum of the usage of alts, I'm curious how many hearthlings everyone will make at the start of the world and to what purpose?

I myself, going to play as a hermit, will make hearthlings for the following:
- one hunter/forager (my main)
- one farmer/sewer/indoor slave
- one miner (taking the hits from boulders early game)
- one dig/chop alt (who will sadly die of hunger and be replaced by his son/daughter till all work is done)

Usually playing with max two clients at once, since I cannot handle more than that. Wish I could do everything on one character, but this game does not allow that kind of efficiency. Sadly.

You can't die of hunger by working, you'll have to feed this as well.

With gildings you can do pretty much everything on one character.

1) main: farmer, tailor, carpenter
2) fighter/hunter(may make separate Hunter later for when fighter gets murder)
3) throwaway forager/explorer/ rock crystal and ancient root camper.

Why not find group and play with one or, maybe, max two characters? Much more fun and dosent lead to overburn so quickly

Normally i have one main i develop and the others i mainly spawn in new world for mapping in the first weeks and later use them for claiming or keyholding mostly ...

Maybe another to serve as a gatekeeper/butler if i land in an overly hostile continent (hopefully not)
