Ive seen a lot of conflicting information.
The wiki seems outdated, rage still implies you can kill other people with rage while the murder page says you can kill anyone without KO protection but offers no information on how to obtain that.
There was some suggestion thread stating that you would have to pray and use numen to get KO protection but the ancestral worship page has no info about praying for a KO shield.
Another thread on these forums states that murder makes you deal more grievous damage and you must overkill them to murder or else everyone gets KO protection.
Maybe none of the above is correct. What is actually the real and current PVP mechanics for w12?

Rage skill lets you aggro people
When you get ko'd you can hearth after 30 seconds, so only way to die is to get overkilled by HHP damage before getting ko'd (unless you have the murder magic on)
Most weapons have 40% grievous damage, so dying to someone without murder magic is basically impossible if you have no wounds already
The murder magic lasts for 24 hours and increases grievous damage by 20% (so 60% for most weapons)
If you have the murder magic on, you can't hearth when ko'd, so the enemy can just kill you

Didn't the last post imply that you can no longer hearth freely if you lack Knock Out P which is a skill that needs to be bought?

Weird, the update implied it did.DDDsDD999 wrote:It was never implementedSevenless wrote:Didn't the last post imply that you can no longer hearth freely if you lack Knock Out P which is a skill that needs to be bought?
So we're still running with the "everyone has knock out protection" effect?

Note that currently there seems to be system in place, as part of the world end event, where you take equal amount of HHP damage for every point of SHP damage you take.

Is there still overhit protection?
From everything I'm seeing here, it's back to the 1shp meta for anyone other than fighters that was prevalent early world.

It's world 10, except 20% lower HHP damage on weapons, and a hearth magic that increases your HHP damage by 20% and removes the users KO protection. So in general, world 10, but even less spooky.
You probably don't want to sit at 1 SHP, though, since animals can kill.
