Disconnects after 5 mins of playtime
My game has been disconnecting like clockwork after 5 minutes of playing. No idea what's going on, my firewall isn't preventing any connection as far as the logs tell me - I've opened 2 ports that I saw mentioned in an old forum post with a similar issue as well but that was to no avail. Any help?

Need more specifics about your system and such: operating system, java version, etc. Not much can be mentioned other than what you've already discovered without specific information.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I'm on Windows 10, I just updated my java to the most recent versions and the issue still occurs.

Looking at the logs, it seems that your client is bombarding the server with packages for some reason, causing the server to eventually disconnect it. I can't really tell why that would be, though; are you or have you tried using the default client?

Re: Disconnects after 5 mins of playtime
I captured the network traffic while you were playing, and it seems that your client keeps retransmitting everything it has every tried to say, seeming to indicate that it doesn't receive the acknowledgement packets from the server. Why it wouldn't receive that ack packets even though it gets everything else to the extent that you can play at all, I can't really say, but I strongly suspect it has something to do with some piece of network equipment you might be using, like a router or something that erroneously filters them for some reason.

I'll try restarting it again and also will muck around in my router's settings for something that sounds like it could help and report back!loftar wrote:I captured the network traffic while you were playing, and it seems that your client keeps retransmitting everything it has every tried to say, seeming to indicate that it doesn't receive the acknowledgement packets from the server. My EE brand router (UK company) has a setting called "Extended Universal Plug and Play Security" which seemed to be causing the problem (i.e. blocking the packets). Thanks for the help Loftar!

Interesting. I wonder what it is that they're actually doing. Glad it worked out for you, anyhow.Datlisk wrote:My EE brand router (UK company) has a setting called "Extended Universal Plug and Play Security" which seemed to be causing the problem (i.e. blocking the packets).
