I'm not sure what to do. I am using Amber client and yes my ortho cam full zoom out is on. Anyone know what could be wrong?

I took the time to figure out where on the map you are, and you are indeed at the edge of your continent.
Try switching to the bad camera and look top-down at a 90 degree angle, and see if the indicators still show you that direction.
I have no clue if normal quests send you across the ocean, I know credo quests do not.

Re: Bugged Quests?
If you want an accurate arrow, you should use ":cam ortho". At least, that has been promised to be the one working means of accurate direction by the devs. "Bad cam" is an unsupported feature. There has been complains of broken pointers earlier in the world, though, at least with parties. I've not noticed any broken arrows with quests, though.Nightdawg wrote:Try switching to the bad camera and look top-down at a 90 degree angle, and see if the indicators still show you that direction.
Could be where you are in the world. There might not be any other spirits within the vicinity. If Nightdawg is right about where you are in the world, some of the ocean crossings are almost narrow enough to cross in a rowboat or two, so could be close enough to be picked up as one of the closer spirits. You could just have bad RNG. "Every time I try to do a quest" is a bit vague in relating quest history or if it's a new character with 0 quest history as the number of quests completed tends to make the travel time a bit higher for each new quest.dairyforlife wrote:Every time i try to do a quest and i mean every single time it always directs me towards the sea. You could try abandoning quests and moving further inland from the shoreline. This will hopefully get you closer to other spirits than the ones across the sea. As long as you're near the end of land, you're going to continue having issues. I know I had problems last world with where I made my camp.
I'm sure there are situations where credo quests will send you over dangerous waters, especially if there are no other spirits nearby to direct you to.Makzul78 wrote:Unless NomadNightdawg wrote:I know credo quests do not.

I can confirm I am at the edge of my continent, close to another continent. Never had to cross the ocean for a quest for nomad, jorb promised to look into it last world and he did, bless his heart.Makzul78 wrote:Unless NomadNightdawg wrote:I know credo quests do not.
So I'm pretty sure if nomad won't send you across the ocean, no other credo will.
Ardennes fixed this issue in his client, though I am using shubla's client atm, so this 90 degree trick is what works for me atm. Ortho camera is really the bad one IMO, but sadly it's the supported one.MagicManICT wrote: If you want an accurate arrow, you should use ":cam ortho".

I knew someone had. Thanks for the reminder.Nightdawg wrote:Ardennes fixed this issue in his client, though I am using shubla's client atm, so this 90 degree trick is what works for me atm. Ortho camera is really the bad one IMO, but sadly it's the supported one.
I could discuss the cameras and the math of them, but will avoid it for now as I don't want to derail the thread. Both cameras have issues, both are solvable by someone with even basic knowledge of the OpenGL pipeline and the client code.

Re: Bugged Quests?
You have two pointers on your screenshot. Does one of them points to a questgiver already visited?
UPD. Found your location. If there is no issues with displaying directions, it looks like your questgiver really sending you to another continent. Maybe you should just chop him?
