Ppl don't like that idea because it will obviously lead to some catastrophic consequences, which you guys never consider, pushing some changes and then trying to "fix" the issues for months. It really may be fun for you as developers, but you should understand how unfun it is for players. And I'm talking about some of the aspects I bet you never think about - the sails. You let ppl make personal-attached boats with custom images as sails. Most ppl spend days working on a proper image or spend real money on sketchbook pages to make something that ties ingame item to real person standing behind that sail. It was already stupid when 1 jerk-in-a-shell could bash all those items in like couple of hours, but it was still "yours or noones" and YOU are planning to make the situation where the said person can just steal all said property within 1 night. And that's is BAD. Absolutely evil. Terrible idea. Just because of this one moment, but there are numerous other moments you never thought about.
So that's why ppl say - warn us (create a separate topic on C&I), so we can show you why it is bad.
tl;dr consider yourself warned about all that hate and whine you'll get if you blindly implement this shit into the game.
