delete your cache and say goodbye to all your discovered map and markers
P.S. cutting down the head will definitely remove the headache as well...

Playing vanilla just to keep the (unusable) cache for Amber might be the other solution.Enjoyment_2 wrote:delete your cache and say goodbye to all your discovered map and markers

But then again you lose the old cache anyway.

Re: Amber Client
oh, that's cute)
Also, there's some ways to fix crashes w/o getting your map/markers flushed away.
The easier way would be:
try to find error-log file in client folder that caused the very first crash, check the time it was created an delete the cache files in data-folder that was created in that time.
In case it doesn't solve the issue, there is a bit more complicated way:
1. close the client (!)
2. go to "haven and hearth" folder (C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Haven and Hearth) and create "backup_old" folder
3. now move (not copy) "data" folder into your "backup" folder
4. start the client
4.1. in case you were logged off in crashing area - go to 5.1.
4.2. in case you know what object was causing the issues - go to 5.2.
5.1. make sure the client loaded all the needed stuff, log off and close the client.
5.2. wait for some time (1+ minute, to make sure you'll get new time-code for new files) and try to build the broken object (you need only to click on it's icon in build menu, so ghost-image would appear)
6. shutdown the client and return to cache folder.
7. create "backup_new" folder and move "data" folder there
8. now go the "backup_old folder, copy the data folder and paste it in parent (C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Haven and Hearth) folder.
9.1. go the the backup_new folder, copy the data folder and paste it in parent (C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Haven and Hearth) folder. permit all the replacements.
9.2. go the the backup_new folder, sort the files by date and copy the most recent (the time, when you summoned the ghost image) files to the data folder in parent directory.
10. open the client and enjoy the game with all your maps saved
11.1. in case you don't have your markers - perform a "search->find in files" via Notepad++, hit the "regular expresion" type "hres.*map.*index" and choose your "backup_old" folder as the search destination. after the completion - search the file, containing the result and copy over it to your main data folder.
