Re: Hermit and Hearth
Before flaming him mindlessly, imagine that this sort of player is the possible future of Haven & Hearth.
No fresh players, no future for the game, just keep that in mind when you're bullying some hermits/newplayers.
You'll say "it's the game, I'm a PvPer", but I don't see the point that you're a skilled PvPer in bullying/killing naked newcomers, despite instant personal satisfaction.
World 13 just started and I got the opinion it will not stay played for long due to the lack of player base.
Do some PvP in faction wars and let the game be played by more casual players, just let the game live for longer.

Re: Hermit and Hearth
Your new character really isn't worth giving your hat away for. Pretty dumb to hand it over. Just start a new character somewhere else.
I'd happily give you one of my old hats but you'd probably throw that one away too.

Re: Hermit and Hearth
Ask devs to ban people who ask for hats, shouldn't be legal.

I'm not sure that I have a strong argument against sketch colors - Jorb, November 2019

Re: Hermit and Hearth
Regardless if the op is real or not since the hats are bought with real money would behavior like this fall under extortion like the real life kind?

Whether this story is real or fake, I can confirm hat raiders exist; I got mugged by them once last world. (Refused to give any hats obviously.)Avu wrote:Regardless if the op is real or not since the hats are bought with real money would behavior like this fall under extortion like the real life kind?

Re: Hermit and Hearth
It's maybe edgy but the hats and/or tokens are ingame items so why wouldn't you be able to ask for them?
And you don't have to pay the person, you can just say no.
There's no guarantee the evil do'er will leave you alone or send his friends by later to rob you blind anyway.
It's foolish to even give in to such demands.
If you start paying, you will keep paying.

Re: Hermit and Hearth
Hats are traded for real-life money, so this creates a real-life incentive to get people to give you their hats. This is in contrast to normal griefing, which happens purely in the game as part of someone's normal gameplay, rather than because they gain some benefit external to the game from it.SmackMcBacon wrote:It's maybe edgy but the hats and/or tokens are ingame items so why wouldn't you be able to ask for them?

Re: Hermit and Hearth
Some robbers start hunting hermit from 3rd day, for no reason, kill anyone they see, throw everything. I ask some of them, their answer is same: they are helping you, help you to quit the game, they don't want other people play the game.Valgar wrote:Before flaming him mindlessly, imagine that this sort of player is the possible future of Haven & Hearth.
