Deleted corpse while sailing a knarr

I was taking our new knarr for a joyride when I saw a naked corpse on the beach. I wanted to give it a proper burial, so I picked it up. When I attempted to put it in the cargo, it made a noise as if though it was dropped on the ground, and it simply ceased to exist. It is neither in the cargo or in the water.

Might be a bug, but I highly doubt it.
You can't put corpses in carts/cargo, so you probably accidentally put it in the water for a moment. Corpses RAPIDLY decay in the water, and the corpse's "health" was probably already low from being a bit old, or having been in water before. It was destroyed and replaced with a skeleton, which can't exist in water so it also got destroyed

Alternatively, you might've somehow placed it inside of your knarr gob which could've triggered the anti-stacking mechanic. Although I think(?) since you inherit your knarr's hitbox that shouldn't trigger if you're online. Seems easy to test

I think it's very possible that this is a bug. Regardless of a body's state of decay (whether they just freshly died or have been dead for some time), picking it up and dropping it back in to deep water causes it to disappear. I'm not sure why this occurs but it has existed for at least a few years now.

Upon further testing, a recent update(I know this was not the case early this world) made a single tick of damage from seemingly any source deletes a body & causes it to not spawn the skeleton. Water does ticks of damage on an interval, I guess

you can also delete corpses while sailing with a body by crashing your client(maybe you can close it as well, idk, never tried that). the body just disappears with you when you are logged out. doesnt even get put in the water.

That's the garbage anti stacking mechanic working as intended. Deleted so much good shit & corpses with it from DC or people logging the char I'm on
