while I may have reasons to like it or not, and would still accept it's reset, I'm more worried about this

Are you using a custom client?
You're getting an error for gold, resource not found when trying to fetch it from the server
Or something about the SSL certificate? (not an issue on your side)
I'm only using the link provided from this post, java is updated.
+1 Having the exact same issue.

Hey devs here's an idea.
Make Legacy Haven available through current launcher, but updated.
So for example those who have verified their accounts when they click on the haven and hearth launcher it launches and then a window pops up giving the player to choose either on the left Legacy or right Hafen and then prooceeds to launch the game which they clicked on. So having in a way 2 games in 1 depending on the account and if they are not verified the Legacy on the left would be greyed out.

PS. Please updated to an extent legacy client and have something like mods/legacy community clients url turned on (forgot the term sorry) which either links to ender or whatever.
And finally have like 2 numbers for server is up players 1 for current and 1 for legacy hearthlings. (Unless the numbers are both legacy and hafen combined, then at least would be nice to know how many legacy players are still around)

I know that your main focus is the hafen, but legacy has dat pixel art charm bros.

If you have issue with SSL certificate errors then it's because there is wrong certificate for "http://legacy.havenandhearth.com/".
If you have a custom client and you can build it from source then go and replace "https://legacy.havenandhearth.com" links to "http://legacy.havenandhearth.com"
It worked for me with anemone client.

I keep getting error after logging into the game.
Is the server down or what?

Something about Legacy Haven graphics just brings back the Nostalgia. There are so many improvements that hafen has incorporated, but still fun to play both. This was the main reason I purchased a verified account.
