All I want is a reason to sail across the ocean next world.

Give continents something unique about them. Different variety of animals? (Elk vs Deer, Red Squirrels vs Grey Squirrels)

It's hard to justify being a merchant when you can get everything from 1 continent.

EDIT: Elf to Elk, with that said I wouldn't mind hunting either.

There will be no next world, but that aside, I agree. It gives more incentive to explore the world and trade. Trade posts and colonization goes hand in hand.
I would also like to see the ability to specialize even more. Make it so a (super) specialization is very hard to achieve, but very rewarding. For instance focusing on being VERY good at making a certain item. A cutblade master or a scythe master? To make this viable there should not be possible to bot ones way to mastery (not sure how to avoid that though).
