Re: Swamp
You need to wait 20 minutes to be certain that the map unloads.

Re: Swamp
Doubtful that it is a bug.

Re: Swamp
I've had this happen before. 100% sure that nobody cleaned the whole swamp.
I went to the swamp, picked candleberries and left the rest. Revisited 20~25 minutes later and nothing spawned.
Unless it is 'normal' that swamps spawn without anything in it once in a while, I would consider it a bug. By nothing, I mean no toads, frogs or cattails. Nothing.

Re: Swamp
The first (and only) time I ever encountered a Chasm Conch was on a character completely unequipped to handle it. My fighter was on the same account, so as he made his way to where the Conch was, I made sure to log back into the miner briefly every few minutes to force the tile to stay loaded. Except suddenly the miner logged in and the Conch was gone, along with all the cave lice and the stalagooms that had previously been there. It's more commonly seen when you're trying to early cheese a bat walking into and out of a cave exit, only for the bat to suddenly despawn. My speculation was it's more of an intentional mechanic where if the server's under a heavy enough load it will delete inactive tiles ahead of time, but if you immediately ask it to pull them back, it'll skip spawning new temporary objects.
