Maybe that's just me, but it seems to me that ore nodes now have descrete spawn points of around 1km?
I'll explain. I was digging for 3 straight days in the cave above my base. And every ore that I found was casseterite. Nothing else. Not even a slightest sign of any other ore. 1km to the west - not a single sign of ANY ore at all. Screenshot #1 , every white flag is a casseterite node.
However, when I decided to try and check another cave that was around 1 km below our base... I found lead. Lots of lead... And nothing except for it. It seemed like every 3rd stone node is a lead node. Screenshot #2 [, every cyan flag is a lead node.
I don't recall such desparity in previous playthroughs (I have skipped the previous world, so I don't know how it was then. so maybe it was updated and I just missed the patchnote that explains that?).
After digging for 4 straight days I now understand that I have to actually go 2-3km away from my base just to see if any copper has spawned there, because in every direction from my base for at least 1km away there is either only casseterite, or no ore at all... Am I missing something, or am I just so insanely unlucky?

One does not exclude the other. What I'm talking about is that ore nodes have round descrete formation areolas that can stretch for several kilometers. Two such areolas can intersect. Nevertheless, this also means that if some ore cannot be found within 200-300 meters of your digging, then most likely you will have to travel for a kilometer or two in random direction to have higher chance to find that said ore, because you might just happen to be in the center of oreless areola, because ore nodes spawned too far away from each other.Nexit wrote:a cave i was mining in had both lead and cassiterite right next to each other

Pretty sure the general consensus is that you will only find copper (wine glance, maybe some other types) on L2 and deeper.
Personally I have found tin and lead close together on L1, and copper and lead quite close together on L2, while my neighbours are telling me there is only lead, some more lead, and maybe ... lead in their cave network. So, as ever, I think YMMV, and in this case it's just that RNJesus hates you, and also there's no copper on L1 any more.

Who needs proper patch notes when you have the joy of discoveryDavilMorn wrote: After digging for 4 straight days I now understand that I have to actually go 2-3km away from my base just to see if any copper has spawned there, because in every direction from my base for at least 1km away there is either only casseterite, or no ore at all... How could any hot-blooded male deny such a request under the circumstances.

Are you bullshitting me? No copper on lvl1? It means that you have to get 20 wax (which is insanely hard and tiresome as it is) just to get a shot at finding copper? If that's the case for everyone, then ok... but I'm really not sure about it.Miss_Min wrote:Pretty sure the general consensus is that you will only find copper (wine glance, maybe some other types) on L2 and deeper.

it was actually reduced to 10 wax, but it's still too expensive. it's clear that the devs want their game centered around botting and large factions.DavilMorn wrote: Are you bullshitting me? 10 wax is trivial for even solo players if you actually leave your base. Multiple of my villagers were bringing in 10-15 wax per day on day 2 of the world.Nexit wrote:it was actually reduced to 10 wax, but it's still too expensive. it's clear that the devs want their game centered around botting and large factions.
Not to mention that you had a full week grace period to get it this world due to the mine pyres.

50 candleberries is trivial 2 weeks after start of world , even for a hermit.
50-75 candleberries per day is no lifing :p
