Re: my wagon trek begins.
How did you figure that you were were followed? Signs or intuition. And yeah you had a close call there. It is good to know that swamps are safehavens for swamp in a chase. I think the same may be said about thickets since walking drains an absurd amount of stamina. In fact a huge area of thicket may be idea to rest since very few would want to venture into one, especially raiders since they prefer easy-to-access preys.

Re: my wagon trek begins.
are you an alt of pyro? prolly not, since ur named 4th emperor and while we were talkin in village chat, you got a lil uptight when i said you were from Mordor.
now how did i know there were there? like i said before, it started out as a feeling. I would backtrack, not much mayby 20-30 tiles or so. but the last time i did it, i was wagoning by a river, and after i had backtracked, and was again heading west, there was a boat there that i was pretty sure wasnt. So i continued for bout 10 to 15 minutes, and allowed the char to do the sleep thing. after that, . . . well you know the rest.
and yes, jungle, swamp, any kinda stam draining terrain does not affect wagon peeps. so it was rather luck i had hit that swamp at that time.(wagoning in swamp is like using a cart on stone paved ground. no slow speed nor stam reduction.

I BET YOU STOLE THE WAGON BROGHK!
Anyways, good luck! After endless boating, walking, nearly starving, and getting mauled by boars and bears for 2 days. My group of 5 including me have acquired a tin mine in the new SGs! I am a proud hearthling.

Re: my wagon trek begins.
Day 5:
well to say the guys with pointy metal thingys spooked me is a lil undersatement. so for the next day when i got on, i basically just checked if the cow had fodder and made sure everythings was covered up by the tree tops. didnt do much of any kind of exploring. logged off and played mount and blade for a day.
Day 6:
Got that bug again, so i hitched up my wagon, replenished my food supplies(mainly raw fish) and once again headed west. Nothing much to see here, it's like i'm starting all over again. except this time i should be closer to the rim. Still see all types of settlements, at first i went outta my way to keep clear of em, but after a while lazyness gets the best of you and you get less and less paranoid/careful. I have stopped looking in caves now cause they're kinda hard to get to em via wagons(all i see now is bloody Firs, them firs hate Wagoners) and i'm just concentrating on a westerly direction.
Day 7:
I FOUND A HIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
day started out like usual, saw some old homesteads, but no active claims. bout an hour into the trek, i got my first hit. (tin 7% useable) Well here i am all hooping and hollaring in me computer chair
so now it's just now tracking the mine to get a mine stake up. What a time to hit river central. I had to cross a Ton of rivers, but i blame my inexperience with prospecting. So anyhoo back to the trek. keep moving in westerly direction, and about 15 prospectings later, i'm the owner of a Tin mine. and even better than that, when my tin mine said 83% useable i also got another hit for 3% copper.
Day 8:
I now have the mine construction site. But before i do anyting, i begin the ardious Task of palasiding the entire area. My palaside is going to be roughly 75 x 85 tiles(give or take 5 tiles) most of my area will be mudflat, with like just under a 3rd being forestland. Luckly i got a metal plow and my alt miner guy has a mining pick.
So it begins.
