I don't really see the problem either - Village Claims don't prevent Trespassing in the same way Pclaim does. For an average Sprucecap, an active village claim over a Thingwall could actually be a benefit of sorts - it eliminates any chance of hostile animals spawning right next to the Thingwall and "camping" it.

Yeah I don't see a reason for it either, like maybe we could argue that villages having safepalis near the thingwalls is not ideal but honestly idk if I even agree with this argument (It's also not what you show us on the screenshot, so I assume your reasoning is different).

Ok, let me explain, you can lock newbies by bulding/throwing stuff around.

You get a preview before teleporting. Don't accept the teleport if it looks like you're going to be blocked inside something.

Maybe you should use the tools Jorb has given you and siege the thingwall then. It's a community sandbox game. With the new water mills added you can even block rivers now. Are you going to make the exclusion zone around a thingwall a full minimap or more? A dedicated troll could easily wall in around the thingwall regardless of the distance as long as that thingwall has only skinny rivers near its water side.
