Re: Steam Wishlist
Tbh it's up to us. Far more than 7k people have played steam in the last few years. Many more would be interested in at least playing with a big steam release. If we reach out to our friends and former villagers and ask them to do the same, we'll get over 7k.

Just as a daily update, it's now at 1,587.

Wonderful, I'm doing my part.loftar wrote:Just as a daily update, it's now at 1,587.
Could you find some way to open up video posting and guides on the steam page? Or does that require the game to be launched? I'd like to post some stuff to see if it can get attention on the steam community pages.

Arrr, I reckon that there be a grand hullabaloo 'bout the launch o’ that Steam treasure, but it could lead to a right heap o' trouble! If one server can't withstand the mighty tide o’ users, an' if the scallywags in charge be unprepared, then they won't have a proper fix in sight. That'll leave many a landlubber with a poor first impression. They'll be thinkin', “Blimey, what a buggy, lag-riddled mess this be!” The devs ought to have a cunning plan in their sea chest fer when a swarm o' players be descending upon ‘em, so the experience ain't a complete disaster in their eyes, savvy?

Yes, Loftar said he'd deploy additional servers if numbers required, which would become parallel worlds.Forager01 wrote:The devs ought to have a cunning plan in their sea chest fer when a swarm o' players be descending upon ‘em, so the experience ain't a complete disaster in their eyes, savvy?
Also, to provide more information to the community:
We don't necessarily need to hit 7k ourselves. As we wishlist the game, especially at the pace we've been doing, steam *will* start to seed Haven into pre-release publicity for people searching for upcoming games in certain genres aka start to show it off organically. This is well before it hits the "popular upcoming" list. So, we just need to seed the game. But because of Haven's accelerated release schedule of next month, we need to push it there quickly so that it starts to snowball faster.
This is not unobtainable. There are 7,051 upcoming releases currently listed on steam, and 1,186 of them are in the popular upcoming releases category. That means we only need to be in the top 17% or so. Haven clearly has an established fan base that can make that happen.
