Most likely, burn blocks in Kilns. You can also turn a Firebrand into 0.01kg of ashes. This requires a bot to be even remotely "smart" option. Also it was nerfed by having the quality of the resulting Ash halved compared to the Firebrand. Coincidentally, this happened not long after a public client (Nurgling) adding a bot for it.

Yes - I knew about this method, but was told something smarter, faster.. something
is there a way to cure deepworm besides tansy? someone said to starve the worm, and there is a post on steam saying to be below 7000 energy, but it isnt working it just keeps growing.
edit: kept growing for a bit, then it started to go down. being low on energy and not eating will cure deep worm at around 1% per hour, doesn't work if you log out or go to sleep.

The Wiki openly states +/- 8 hours. How much longer do you think it is taking?
I see batches of things I plant within the same minute mature across a few hours myself. If you play regular sessions and expected to harvest before leaving for work (like I do) you may be disappointed. They could sprout moments later, but you don't find out for half a day?
What is your time zone and what time on Friday did you plant? If you are in US Central (-6 hours) and planted late on Friday, I don't think you're late yet.
When did you expect the harvestable product? It's possible to take almost 4 days according to wiki. That also assumes no server downtime, not that there has been any in the last 4 days
