Highest qualities?

Post by Soukuw »

It doesn't seem discussed a bunch. For me Q300+ is a bit magic but Q400 and Q500 seems mystical. Do things go to Q600, Q700 and beyond exist?

The highest quality animal I've ever killed pretty sure is a badger from a badger den at Q280. Dens seem to not adhere to any local quality level. I've been really curious about ore and stone quality, do they go above 500?

Edit: https://i.ibb.co/998FqC7n/image.png I actually have a good one to share I think. I assume this was quality 59 cave clay with a boost of +10 from the potters credo, not entirely sure though.

I found a 540ql tin ore during W15 and mined out a 500-ish ql troll. IIRC someone killed a 900+ ql seal (quest-buffed ql).

In W13 we mined q700 quarryartz and crafted q500 stone axes, I've heard about 900+ quarryartz but never saw ~600 axes, the cap for other stone and ore on L9 is also around 500-ish.
Worth to note I'm not seeing such quarryartz anymore, so it probably was nerfed.

Animals are already mentioned, and other than that there was only W10 which was the longest world, with metal spiraling there was q2000+ metal tools, and crops also reached 1000+ if I'm not mistaken.
Obviously animals were 300+ as well.

I'm confused how you get that high, everything seems to lead back to stone/clay/bone quality. Do you have to get insanely high quality bones then turn them into bone ash with incredibly high quality sticks as fuel split by a very high q axe?

Bones can be pulled up crazy high late game by breeding rabbits or chickens.
String is a major factor as well and being a crop easy to just steadily raise over time.
On deeper mine levels stone can have qualities in the multi-hundreds.

Crops and domestic animals can just be raised the entire world.

There's much larger potential for tame animals, as they doesn't depend on water, their quality rises faster than chicken and bunnies, and they have quality modifier parameters, e.g. q200 sheep with 120% hide quality parameter will give q280 hide and bone from it's corpse.
