Re: Content deny strategy
The problem with the game is that you're hyperfixating on a coat of paint when every aspect of the game surrounding it is broken. If you were good at this you would not be concerned with the aesthetic when these are the mechanics surrounding it

Re: Content deny strategy
To be entirely fair to Jorb, he's not the one hyper-fixating here. Realms haven't been the subject of very much development focus in recent years, and he's considering changes. Your suggestion is that realms are bad and pointless because they are unfun and PVP is broken. That's not really a suggestion. Also regardless of whether it's true, there have been plenty of realm fights this world between our alliance and yours (although you've allegedly quit) so it's not a completely failed feature.SnuggleSnail wrote:The problem with the game is that you're hyperfixated on a coat of paint when every aspect of the game surrounding it is broken. Maybe fix PVP before asking for more ideas on how to further break the PVP adjacent coat of paint that is realms
Further, the last time they tried to overhaul PvP/combat I heard you were a primary force behind rolling it back, because you complained it was too ping reliant, in part because the island you live on is very far from the servers.
I, for one, would be completely behind either a combat overhaul, PVP overhaul, and realm additions. I've made a small contribution here: https://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/vi ... 48&t=80287
As a general proposition, I tend to agree that the act of PVP in Haven is pretty unfun, but the mere threat of it is sufficient to drive a lot of activity. If the devs are interested in trying to make PVP more fun, I can only imagine the technical nightmare. But there are games that have skill based PVP in an isometric perspective in an open sandbox world without substantial issues with ping, see Albion Online.
I really question if combat is core enough to Haven's experience to justify recreating combat from the ground up, however. There are probably smaller changes that could completely turn the entire meta and experience on its head that might improve it substantially. The really juicy ones are probably going to make a bunch of people who have an interest in maintaining status quo very angry.

Na, my suggestion is that the game would be good if he didn't keep hyperfixating on aesthetics while ignoring it for years when he breaks stuff. Realms are just the tbh pretty low priority example.
This game could be made x10 better by literally just removing bloat, and maybe having a vision for the game. You know they reintroduced infinite spiraling this world and I bet they don't even know how

Re: Content deny strategy
That's so brave and specific of a suggestion.
Remove "bloat" (non-specific things you don't like), and have a vision.
Are you running for President?
You've referenced having a vision in the past.
I believe you've specifically bemoaned that Jorb doesn't have a specific way he "wants us to play," no?
I think that's antithetical to the sandbox experience if there's a defined and optimal way to play.

I'm on my hater arc I'm not going to do his job for him, but honestly the things that need to be fixed are so blatant it's hard to not be unintentionally constructive
100% you're just sucking his dick, though. If there's one thing haven players can agree on it's that it's full of egregiously broken dogshit that could be fixed triviallySnuggleSnail wrote:lmao look at this shit https://discord.com/channels/1194708350 ... 9146801182

Bruh I spend like 80% of my time on the forum shit posting. I could care less what Jorb thinks of me. Sometimes I even try to troll him but he's very unfun and doesn't take the bait.
But at least I have fun shit posting. I'm not sure at all what you are doing here... You aren't being productive, you don't seem to be having fun, and you aren't really even engaging in any meaningful way other than to vaguely call things bad. But without enough specificity that it can really be constructive.
Do you need like a squishy toy for your desk to get the rage out, bro?
