Re: 99% of PVP/permadeath woes are an onboarding issue
Tbf, I've seen Snail on every decently size event and on every faction related siege for last 5 worlds. You poped out like 2 worlds ago and the only siege you've participated was the one where you wished your villagers good luck and escaped to Epstein Island or smth.Robben_DuMarsch wrote:I love how much you project your insecurities.SnuggleSnail wrote:ur a bigboi or something
I don't need to kill defenseless newbs and brag about it to feel like a bigboi.
This just proves the sad state of the game today.SnuggleSnail wrote:I'm unarguably top 5 biggest bois, and arguably #1. I think I'd put myself at #2 behind felix

Re: 99% of PVP/permadeath woes are an onboarding issue
The only time I saw Robben publicly engage with PvP was the 1 world where combat got dumbed down so hard to the extent that it became 1 button press. It bypassed the whole combat system and any need for skill, coordination, communication or anything- it was like a 5 yr olds idea of fun roblox gameplay. Obviously everyone hated it so it got fixed and hes been claiming that there is some elitist force trying to "gatekeep the status quo" "so that 50 people can maintain their specific playstyle". No, people just dont want to play a game with 0 skill expression, what would be the point?
If the entire combat system was reworked with the same or more amount of skill expression (which is already very low), it would be fine. The problem is the devs have wasted their time doing multiple big combat reworks in the past and they were often just bad now it feels like a waste of time when we couldve had other content.
Btw we couldnt "bypass the walls" of norsca, lost woods, H4D and most other villages this world either. Rams are just to force a fight, actual raiding is nearly impossible. Your village is 1 of the few big villages that actually managed to get raided because you straight up abandoned your villagers and ran lol.
Most sandbox pvp games could be argued that people with "weaponized autism" and "lots of time" wins. If the combat mechanics were changed to some other skill based system like albion style or anything else I reckon itd be all the same winners and losers. Id be happy to 1v1 in albion to prove it.
I say "publicly engaged" because Idk if robben has been in any other fights. He go to extreme lengths to hide presence like fully abandoning 2nd village when I scouted it one time. If the robben memo that we had this world was actually robben itd make sense because that guy got KOd 1st every single fight lol.

Your argument is - "you can get good in pvp if you try hard enough"
My argument is - I don't want it. I like the other aspects of the game. I know a handfull of people who quit because they didn't like being unwillingly forced into this content.
I can understand 5 people really liking it, I'm just not one of them, and voicing my opinion.
