Then why moderate at all? I mean, what's stopping me from making hundred accounts while loftar is asleep and continue doing my thing? What's even the point?

And when they do, why do they ignore people obviously botting, griefing, exploiting, etc?
The whole, entire point is: Might Be Neat. Expect otherwise (or “more”) at your own peril.

A philosophy of whimsy, and ephemeral intentions soon-forgot. We should all so strive :)

I understand, personally I would prefer if they took a hard-line stance on the matter as well. You are not the first and only person to have their account(s) disabled as a result of botting, however it was my understanding that loftar typically only uses this when the bots are in some way impacting server stability whether it's through sheer numbers or a particular repetitive action. You should at least have your main character account(s) spared but my opinion has also somewhat softened over the years.

From what I've seen it doesn't appear like you deserved to have every account disabled (if that is indeed the case) and perhaps this only garnered any attention because you made it public in the first place. There's a reason why you don't hear about things like this happening very often, even though they do in fact happen, and it's because the people who create and utilize bots on a large scale don't advertise or show off their tasks and tools. Rather than loftar or jorb noticing at all what you were doing it is very possible some players simply reported this to them and for whatever reason they decided to do something about it.

I'm in agreement with you and I too would love to see them take appropriate measures towards the individuals that impact the game in a negative way when utilizing such tools to not only gain the upper hand but to then maintain and use that advantage when encountering others for the entire length of a world.

I just want to bring up this old gem

https://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/vi ... 40&t=76433

There are things that could be done that could curtail the botting. but I really don't think they will get close to it.

for a myriad of reasons.

One of their biggest problems was how they changed LP accrual.

But that's for another thread

very easy to answer questions
Your answers to these questions would seemingly indicate that what he is doing is fine though, and yet he was banned?
I need to include a disclaimer - I have lived with Drath for multiple worlds.
I'm pretty sure the most damage his bots have actually done is my ear drums.
If you want to get into the details not all botting is treated equally.
I just gave general answers. If we look at it more closesly what he has done is exactly the kind of botting they have banned before and don't want to see.
Also keep in mind I'm just translating the vibes I get from devs I am not an official.
Robben_DuMarsch wrote:I think most of the frustration here isn't that it's outlawed - It's that there is some arbitrary line drawn in the sand that has not been communicated... and worse, it was enforced by disabling Drath's accounts, randomly, without warning.
Its hard to communicate these things to a community that will twist your words and find loopholes.
Developer silence on a lot of things is understandable. We already have too much negativity in our lives.
Its also very rare these days for developers to be involved in community management at all and I'm surprised they have lasted so long in this gu pot.

jorb told you on stream why he banned you cuz you turned the game into an RTS you are using your bots to do PVP and mass kill shit and making exp for your Realm by making new characters by Wilderness Beacons and getting the 1,000 exp every time new character enters anywhere doing that multiple times with 30 characters that's 30,000 exp and I could see somebody doing that many characters every two to three minutes that's too cheesy and too much of a big cheat if you just use a bot for terraforming or light farming crops and stuff you're not going to get in trouble for it when you start to use it for PVE and PVP in the way of killing things that's where you're getting into an area will probably lead to a ban if you do it too much and I think doing it in PvP at all should get you banned sorry using a shit ton of bots like this you deserve a ban
