Thingwalls have become a trap.
Bots are camping every other Thingwall. Some are even put inside tiny palisades. Not that it doesn't matter much, as these bots are literally naked alts worth nothing, so killing them only results in you getting red handed, while they'll just make a new one in a few hours tops.
These bots are clearly some sort of alert system, to give pvpers a way to monitor and track player movements without even having to get out of their base.
This is not a new thing btw, but the free thingwall travel made it extend further than before as it doesn't really matter how far you are now.
Since the use of bots this way is clearly not being punished, despite being super easy to spot and clearly detrimental to the game, the next best thing is to just make Thingwalls not useful for everyday travel. Only allow travel to the ones that are getting challenged, so realm people can still get there in time to deal with it.
PS. In the Q&A it says you don't fight bots because they are hard to impossible to detect.
Well these are super easy, all it takes is teleporting around provinces to immediately spot all of them.

detect =/= spot
Either Dev time is used to program, or dev time is used for go around smacking bots all day long

Ohhhh, right. Nobody check the thingwallas near Maze&co’s village. I’m sure his arguments will continue to sound sound long as you remain in the dark.

Considering the latest patch, I'd say it's time well spent.maze wrote:Mr_Bober wrote:

Either way, it doesn't take long.
In one or two hours they can check all Thingwalls and start banning a bunch of people.
Not just the bot account, any account linked to them. I'm sure in the majority of cases it's not hard to find who put it there.

You could always move?
I guarantee you that 90% of the thingwalls in the game are not being watched and you can port freely. Sounds like you are choosing to live in an area with that level of regional control, which I think is moreso on you imo

Aside from the fact that I settled before those bots appeared, I've seen them spanning a whole continent from east to west. If moving 6 profinces is not enough, I doubt going further will be much different.
And what if I move and the bots appear there too? Am I supposed to keep moving away? It's not like it takes much effort to put them up.

i'm going to leave some alts at thingwalls just to menace you and other people and induce a low level indiscriminate terrorMr_Bober wrote:^One of the guys using those bots.jordancoles wrote:You could always move?
