https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vtRtnTc6K0 Tittle of the video: Why Are These Dead MMOs Still Running?
I didn't realise just how many dead mmorpgs are there with player numbers from 1 to 99 and still being online, like lowest ever player numbers that I recall haven and hearth having was around 150. So I am pretty sure that community donwplays how good haven and hearth is, heck even on steam, most assumed that it will be negative or mostly negative reviews, but it seems to sit from mixed (as most old mmorpgs seem to be getting that review score) to mostly positive or positive reviews.
For being niche of niches of a game it seems to be doing better than most mmorpgs that are for generic mmorpg playing demographic, this is keeping in mind when comparing to mmorpgs that are as old as Haven and Hearth from 2000s mmorpgs and 2010s mmorpgs. This excludes 2020s mmorpgs.

Re: Haven and Hearth always did better than community thinks
I always said a "Dead MMO" is kind of an illusion or an "Excuse" if you will, so ppl can put a blame to the game and try to get themselves away with said game or community they already attach to.
It's a way for ppl to kinda cope themselves from their sunk cost fallacy because like "I ALREADY SPEND TIME HERE I INVEST MY LIFE HERE WHERE'S MY REPARATION !!!"
Well yes, there is MMO that actually die because not enough ppl but there still some that exist and still able to operate, as long as the Dev. didn't give up some player will stay.
As for Haven and Hearth, eventho the game focus quite alot on building a Community, a Village, A Town something like that, a Community game.
But the game on their own still a very solid survival craft with RPG Element, Curiosity for EXP point is quite Unique, Wound on your body made you feel more "connect" to the Character.
Don't forget all the writing and Art which also all handcrafted.
I'm so tired of MMO release these day that use all the Asset it available in the store, all I see is the same game with different skin that swap Icon and Skill effect around.
I still don't understand the hate toward Dev. I can see why but still don't understand.
ppl focus too much on the outcome, for me, when playing game, I always choose to enjoy almost anything that present to me in the game, Music, Graphic, or even the vibe alone.
I don't care if I can Hunt something bigger than me or Craft 300Q Sword, as long as I can still play the game because it exist, I'm happy with that.
There's also another one that worth Watching, it's from obscured Channel with a Title of "I accidently revive a dead MMO" or something
it's an MMO that heavily focus on Social construct, they have like a School learning section "in game" where ppl get in there to learn about the Topic from whoever is the Teacher at the moment.
Once that video came out, the Dev. and some of the creator team comeback to see the game and update lot of stuff since there's influx of new players that want to try the game
They even remove the Subscription limitation to Free to play so ppl can try the game without too much restriction.
it's a good watch and it remind me how Internet should use to connect ppl not another way round.
Anyway, I'm old, I might have different POV than the less, for me I don't see the problem in HnH, there is problem for sure but is it really game breaking ? I don't know, maybe I'm too noob to give any relevant opinion but ain't gaming need to be fun from the beginning ?
I don't know, hard to say, everyone is right in their own way and I respect that, I just want to see more positive than everyone being so Hostile like Badger and Wild Boar.
