damage during fighting

Trying to compare fighting styles on the wiki, it says that punch deals str damage, while weapons do (base)+str/3 damage. I'm sure that there's something off with this (as it means that even ridiculously low str will do more damage with punch than most weapons). What, then, are the actual damage numbers?

Don't underestimate the power of swords. And no, punch doesn't seem to do damage equal to strength, I'm predicting 1/4*str.
