Best crops to always have around?

A 3x3 grid for every type for increasing quality. Other than that have various plots set up which you can constantly change what crop occupies, depending on what you/your village needs.

I probably do not know what it is that you deem necessary so I would put down a summary of what I believe is the purpose of each crops that suits my purposes best. The usefulness of each crop is subjective though so take this with a grain of salt if you must.

I think onion rings are actually pretty good. I don't really do much pirozki, because I feel chants are a waste of inventory space when out foraging. There's more than enough dex foods besides piros.

As for wine, early on the int bonus is much more important than TW reduction.

I find poppies to be utter trash to be honest. The curios are pathetic and the robs are way too much work, I'd rather make camembert and kill deeer. Carrots are also kind of meh for me since I think carrot pies a waste of time and 4 slot oven space. If I'd have to value crops I'd put pumpkins on top since any industrial size cheese factory needs them and they double as the only viable con food (unless you're one of those crazieh peoplez that plant 100 apples)

Meh it takes a lot of space, raising q is tedious, they also need stupid butter meh. Some people swear by them but me personally never saw the appeal.

Butter is piss easy, it's not like milk will ever be the bottleneck in your cheese production. Space is an issue in a grid village, but I don't live in one of those. You're right about q raising, but meh, apple q isn't all that important in final product q. As for the appeal, they're better than pumpkin stuff and it's less work to pick apples than to harvest pumpkins.

Poppies are great to snort when mining at a new level until you get some metal from this level and make a better pick than the one you used on the previous one.

Also, when you snort, the buff stays for the current tile you are mining even if it goes off in the buff list.

It also helps with destroying stuff. Or as a boost when you want a single attack to deal huge damage (for exemple when killing a bear with twitching.)

we have pretty large fields for all crops, only one we dont really use often is the hops, but still harvest all the same.

All crops have their own importance

I like the Poppy seed BAGELS. (Donuts are fried, sillies. Bagels are boiled for internal doneness and then baked to brown, just like RoBs!) They're a more stable source of Psy than some of the others.

I will agree beer is a big mess to make, but when you can use both beer and wine for FEP events, I say have them both around.
