Yeah, reading the innards of animals is a serious and precise science!

Massa makes a good point there. Game devs do the best they can to abstract out some of the specifics needed to simplify game development. Sometimes the balance doesn't quite come out right.
MinionTwo wrote:but i believe that the 'fix' to this issue is getting a little over complicated. instead of creating a new item, why not just request that the recipes be changed to allow intestines as well as entrails?
Pretty sure that the "stitched casing" was added in to fix the "not enough intestines" more people seemed to be having at the time it was introduced.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Well I guess it depends on whether someone likes to eat sausages or not

hmm when you think about it - a wild rabbit usually weighs no more than 2 kg tops, and that gives us about 1 kg actual meat, a mammoth on average would weigh about 5 tons, again that's about 2500 kg of meat minimum. If we take the rabbit as the baseline than a single mammoth should give us not 25 pieces of meat but 2500 pieces. :)

Perhaps you should take into account the fep density on the meat as well. Because off top my head I'm pretty sure rabbit is shit and Mammoth is amazing.

I actually think of entrails as the more qualified resource of the two, as it, in my mind, implies essentially all the offal of the animal. Wouldn't make much sense to cut intestines up to liver, for example.

Myrgard wrote:I'm thinking of recipes like - Grand Haruspex, Mirkwood Offering, Ouroboros, Untanned Rot. None of these require any specific part of a creatures anatomy (unlike liver and onions). They only need a certain amount of the assorted bits found inside an animals belly. For that reason cutting up intestines seems perfectly reasonable to me.
The entrails parts of the haruspex are supposed to be the liver and kidneys, the intestine bits are already covered by, guess what, the intestines ingredients. So, again, no, you can't cut up intestines into kidneys, it would make no goddam sense.

Same thing for the ouroboros, as i assume, takes specifically entrails AND intestines as the entrails are supposed to cover the symbolic filling of, again, kidneys, liver, the small intestine, lungs, stomach, maybe bits of the heart or something. So, yet again, it makes no goddam sense to cut up intestines to take upon the role of entrails, especially on symbolic roles like a haruspex or a ouroboros.

The mirkwood oferring is supposed to be a oferring of certain parts of a animal, and for a clear reason the large intestine isn't covered by this as the recipe is tagged to take entrails and only entrails.

Maybe the untanned rot as i got no idea what that's supposed to represent, but still, as it specially asks for intestines AND entrails it logically says that there's /something/ on the entrails that isn't possible to get from intestines. I imagine that it might be something to do with the small intestine bacteria or someshit, but, the rot makes no sense at all as far as i know, as i have never heard about any tanning solution made out of animal sources.

Its abstract, now, you're comparing a abstract resource to literally making a absolute well defined resource into another one that is supposed to include livers, lungs, stomach and what not.

I'LL MAKE LUNGS OUT OF INTESTINES BECAUSE ITS A VIDEO GAME HUR
