Authority and Revoking Privilege
So I was reading a post about the excessive amount of authority needed to revoke a large claim. So building a huge amount of banners would take a ton of linen and the authority cap only goes up 13k or so. I was thinking that a new authority "structure" should be added which would give 100k authority cap but no area added to the village. It could still give off authority drain but it would make revoking large claims which require over 2m authority over abandoned mines easier to obtain. I'm not sure about what it would be built out of for the sake of balancing but its just an idea i had from other posts.

Good suggestion, but rather than doing this, we need things to cost less authority.

Its pretty annoying to remove a huge claim if its above your max auth imo.

Yeah, we should be able to hijack all hermit homesteads for 30k LP.

1) Why would we want to hijack a hermit homestead, its probable to be of low 'resource value'Potjeh wrote:Yeah, we should be able to hijack all hermit homesteads for 30k LP.
2) If the hermits are worth hijacking, they'd better put up a village claim.

If you can't do it that probably means you shouldn't be able to do it.Thijssnl wrote:Its pretty annoying to remove a huge claim if its above your max auth imo.

Claims can easily cost millions of auth. Its easier to make a huge claim on your own than to remove one with several people.

Re: Authority and Revoking Privilege
To my understanding, this is the point. The idea is to prevent everyone from just being able to casually impose themselves on private property with a bear corpse and four deer. If something is abandoned anyway, then use a ram and buy up your black skills -- you can still impose your influence with signposts and anything else village related. Otherwise, what gives you the right to take away anyone's land that you want to for contrived and convenient reasons?
Though it is true that long since abandoned claims that have decayed entirely are unsightly and annoying, it hardly warrants granting minor villages the capacity to impose themselves on large claims.
The task may seem initially daunting to build up enough authority but it seriously is not hard and does not take long if you have one or two active farmers. So -1 to this suggestion.

No, hell no.
How about all you people who keep suggesting ways to make 'declaiming' easy learn how to mass steel for statue's or linen for banners.
Statue's make it ridiculously easy since you can setup a 30 steel cruc setup with minimal effort that would provide 30 swords or 600k Authority every 2 days.
And why stop at 30 crucs? If you have the people, considering you only have to re-up the fuel every 12 hours you can easily do 60 at a time for 1.2 mil authority every 2 days and just keep expanding, you know how easy it is to actually take over an SG or any regular sized claim? Piss easy.
The only problem is :effort:, and if you want something, it should require :effort:, because that's what makes it worth it.
If you're not willing to do the statues or the banners in order to get what you want, you don't want it enough.
