Had the issue earlier today with a Deer and a boulder as well.

ive been exploring for 2 days now, and yesterday i killed a hole bunch of bears that had this behavior aswell, very odd indeed,
they never used to behave like that before. it seems it often happend if using call of thunder as initiall attack.
If there was a tree in their path they would just stop behind it.

Or maybe that the boars have died so many times that they are like fuck no i aint going to you, you come to me. Im gonna hide behind this tree
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy
