when i open a cupboard, take flour out of the cupboard and make breads out of the flour, the game automatically closes the cupboard inventory window. this is stupid.
i should also be able to craft things directly from the mats in the cupboard.
that is all

Re: crafting and cupboards.
Someone had an idea for a crafting table. I'd like to see that happen.

table would be alright but using any open container would be even more awesome

It would be more convenient, but I strongly prefer the table for some reason.sabinati wrote:table would be alright but using any open container would be even more awesome

Re: crafting and cupboards.
I can sorta see the reasoning behind not letting us shuffle stuff around in our cupboards and stuff while we're crafting stuff, but we can butcher fish and empty buckets in the middle of anything, so there goes that. It would sure be a lot nicer to be able to use your cupboard while waiting for the crafting to process or to be able to stock it up with stuff so you can go afk long enough to go to the bathroom or read a forum topic and come back just in time for your last pile of wheat to finish being created.
Any kind of mass production tools (as suggested in some other topic) would be very welcome.

Well the way I see a crafting table you should be able to interlock tables to make a 'bigger' table, let's say 2x2 tiles (and perhaps a 4x4 tile one)? Fill it up with stuff you're 'crafting' and then craft away, anything by hand. Makes it handy but doesn't take away the usefulness of doing it old school, just means if you're home, it's a lot easier.
Cupboards make little sense to me for using this.
Boosts to the crafting table similar to Symbel would be nice. I'd actually prefer if you could just use the same table but allow them to be interlocked to make bigger ones the way I said, and have 'crafting symbel' go in those same slots.

Yeah, something like varnish could be an accessory to a "crafting table" to give a quality boost to wooden items. There could also be rulers, sandpaper, etc... well, whatever equivalents fit in H&H's general timeline. Maybe the crafting table would be slower than normal crafting since you're doing it more precisely and such.
As long as there's some storage unit/space attached that allows you to go afk for 5 minutes or so while your character crafts stuff, it's got my vote. It's just annoying deciding whether you should sit through a 30-60 second hourglass or read half a paragraph of a forum post with that time.

Yes it is, that's why I mostly think it's a great idea. Let's say you can attach 4 of them together into a 2x2 table with 2x2 array of 6x6 (Total of 12x12 crafting space) that'd be great. If the 'crafting symbel' (if you will) give small boosts to quality that'd be great, or speed, whatever, I honestly don't even need such a thing (but it'd be fun I think), the crafting table allowing me to do 40~ pumpkin pies at a time instead of 20? Hell yeah I'd love that.Danno wrote:Yeah, something like varnish could be an accessory to a "crafting table" to give a quality boost to wooden items. In my inventory it's 16 pumpkin pies at a time (2 buckets of water, 16 wheat flour, 32 flesh).
On a table I could make 40 at a time! (4 buckets of water, 40 wheat flour, 80 pumpkin flesh) with some space left over.
I'd prefer more than that for doughs, but given the era, good enough.
