Should World 4 be a "Test World"?
I think I'm not alone in being less disappointed that the world's resetting as in the fact that World 4 will apparently be pretty much the same as the last one. It's been hinted for a while now that major changes were coming soon, but how that interacts with anew world is a huge question. For my part, I think I'd prefer if it was announced from the beginning that W4 would be a comparatively short-lived, less stable world, where the devs felt more free to experiment with new things and change them if they didn't work, even if it meant rollbacks or even character or item wipes from time to time. (A backup system could also be something to experiment with
). How does everyone else feel?

In an alpha, every world is a test world. This is a fact you have to accept.

Yes, I mean more so this time. In the 6 months I played W3 there were I think 2 updates.Dusk wrote:In an alpha, every world is a test world. This is a fact you have to accept.

What do you call updates? As I recall, there were 'stuff updates' weekly for a good while, so thats BS already.SpidersEverywhere wrote:Yes, I mean more so this time. in the beginning there were updates every week, or every other week. It changes, especially as they find, near the end of a "world" that the changes are conflicting with one another, and some major overhaul is needed. At that moment, we get a reset. You can be sure that at least some, if not a lot of work, has been done before the reset
and there were balance updates, bug fixes and more for a long time

Well, let's see...I started around when barter stands were implemented...there was the decay/tidyness removal update, and the christmas update. And a couple mini-updates in between like temp-Q removal. But weekly updates were over before I started.Thijssnl wrote:What do you call updates? Anyway, that's not my main point. All I'm saying is I think W4 should be a place where Jorbtar feel free to test changes knowing full well they might not work out, and everyone would know that from the start.

I'm playing here because I like the game and i want to add my 2 cents of opinion on any changes, want to add my suggestions, want to make this game improve. I definately do not want to stop that. Let em test, let em play, lets see what happens next, ok?

I think they already do it like that, and then change it if stuff doesnt work out at all. But meh, k, noted.SpidersEverywhere wrote:Well, let's see...I started around when barter stands were implemented...there was the decay/tidyness removal update, and the christmas update. Well, they've mentioned that there is a separate test server which is not accessible to all yet, so they probably don't just throw untested risky stuff in our server. Naturally they don't want all of their player base rage quitting, I guess.Thijssnl wrote:I think they already do it like that, and then change it if stuff doesnt work out at all.
