swimming

Post by evilboy666 »

the permadeath on swimming is really annoying and not fair. maybe if ur stamina is over, youll start to lose your HHP? this way its impossible to pass a river without 30 cons.

Swimming is rather easy already, but I do feel the insta-death upon 5 stamina is a bit much imo, I'd like the HHP drain, even though it's been suggested many times before. If this were to happen though I'd feel it should drain HHP along with stamina or if it followed your suggestion it would drain faster. 30 CON and a flask of water isn't hard to accomplish.

i swim rivers with 10 CON and a flask, not hard at all, dangerous with lag spikes, but it's a case of knowing how to do it :/

on the suggestion itself, i'm not too sure on this one, i think it's a little unforgiving but it's a necesary evil, it forces boats upon players more at early game

click to move to the other side of the river, then rightclick the flask to drink so you can drink whenever you feel like, it lets you walk and drink.

i actually just make sure i'm missing a bit of stamina, then queue the move command hen start drinking while i'm still on land and you just keep drinking all the way across, i'd rather not be halfway across a river and have that method fail on me

With 10 con you can transverse around 5 tiles. With 30 Con you can safely cross larger rivers. It's really not that dangerous anymore unless you're an undeveloped character.

I've noticed most rivers have 11 tiles wide areas, these are passable with 10 constitution without drinking if you're on 100% stamina, tested it 5-6 times because I was forced to.
