Hard Cider

Post by Onionfighter »

Hard cider has been suggested before, but with the increased value of alcohol, now would be a good time to implement it.

It could have a low (<1) fep value, to allow people on diets to drink it, but it could give dex or psi, to motivate people to get high q apple trees.

Edit: I meant to write dex, not con

I'd go with Psider. People who drink your average apple scrumble are definitely more likely to have the shakes... but it's also good for getting in touch with the spirit world, one way or the other.
Surprise.

Zombie thread!!!!! grrrrruuuuuuuhhhh braaaaiiiinssssssss....... ok, sorry, zombie movie was just on tv....

anyways, I just wanted to bump this thread, because I was thinking about mead and cider and hombrew (planning for the weekend), and I realized that we totally have all the ingredients and equipment in game to do hard cider. Apple juice, hard cider and apple vinegar could all have uses. Maybe making rennet with cider vinegar instead of wine vinegar would slightly alter your final cheese FEPs? (ok, no food sci nerds telling me about pH and intestinal flora and how that wouldn't make a difference... i'm just throwing an idea out there :P)

And mead would be nice to see as well, as mentioned in other posts

(maybe all the shiny happy new forum mods we got now could compile all the booze threads into one uber-post? 'cause, well, you know, I sure as hell don't want to do it  )

bump, mead, cider, yes plz.

Optional ingredients for mead:
ground pepper
hops
germinated wheat
blueberries & other fruits

I say optional because i doubt this will happen until the object rewrite wherein I am expecting 'optional ingredients' mechanics.

I'd rather see mead, myself. Store honey in a barrel to ferment or maybe add apples to start the fermenting process (or apples, or blueberries, and each one changes the FEPs the mead provides).
Hearthlings: Marona; Chamberlain (retainer alt), Vincavec (shaman of the Dryad Wells Forest)
