Why is this game so Laggy? :(

I don't know if I posted this in the wrong section but I'm a newer player to this game and noticed that this game is EXTREMELY laggy. How do you guys play with this? I'm enjoying the game a bunch but this lag is starting to become unbareable. It's making EVERYTHING 100% harder to do and just walking is a chore since you rubber band so much. Walking somewhere that would take 15 seconds takes double that time.

Is this normal? If it is I feel as I'm wasting my time to be honest. I truly hope not. Can someone give me some insight on whats going on exactly?

it is normal, sometimes it's worse and sometimes it's better. nonetheless there are lags so you should get used to it.

Yeah, the lag is a pretty normal thing.
You havent felt the least convenient parts of it though until you've run away from an aggro'd boar while lagging like a dial-upper playing World of Warcraft.

it is normal, sometimes it's worse and sometimes it's better. nonetheless there are lags so you should get used to it.

If you wanna just re-post what someone has already said, I'd suggest not posting at all, it's not helpful.

right now, nothing is being done as the sole devs of H&H are working on salem. but after salem is out. . .

This isn't considered a production game. If you had bothered to read the "fine print" about it, it will perpetually be an alpha test bed for game ideas and mechanics, which means it can have all kinds of test code, lack of optimization, and in general crappy performance. If this is an issue for you, pack up and leave. Nobody wants to hear you cry. It's something that will, for all practical purposes, will never be "fixed" as the devs have no "customer base" to keep satisfied so that they can "keep their jobs."

On the other hand, if you think you can accept the issues with the game, it is an exceptional concept. I believe it's worth sticking around and learning about it. You'll have a lot of fun along the way.

The fact that the sole server programmer (loftar) is busy working on a commercial project right now has little do with it. In the 1 1/2+ years I've played, there have been times with little lag and times that it has been much, much worse. It's something you accept when you agree to play in alpha/beta test projects, no matter if the project is something the devs are doing for fun (like HnH) or as part of an eventual commercial release.

I've told many others this and I'll repeat it here: you want the devs to work on this game full time? Provide them with what is equivalent of a full-time salary through donations. Of course, it's too late for that now since they already have obligations to develop Salem for Paradox.

I understand that playing this game I have to deal with lag. But I'm surprised at how many people get offended and attack the OP when he asks if there are plans to make a more reliable server. I have only played for a week but I can't count the number of times I have said "if only there was no lag this game would be perfection" I look forward to hearing more remarks, hah!
