How does bow accuracy work?

Can a dev come in here and give a definitive answer on how bow accuracy works?
Honestly, it's annoying as fuck right now. No matter which position I'm in, no matter what position the MM meter is at, it seems to be completely random if I'll hit the damn animal or not.
The bar for me fills up to 95% quite quickly, but what good is that when 9 times out of 10, I miss? The funny thing is, I accidentally shot at a deer just a moment ago with 0% of my meter full, and it hit. The fuck?
Now I don't know if the whole ranged combat thing is bugged or something, but as of now, archery sucks. Like real bad.

So yeah, I'd appreciate it if somebody explained how exactly you gain accuracy with bows. Is it from raising the MM skill or?

It seems like it just goes up to your max accuracy very quickly instead of the wait from legacy
So boosting MM/bow and arrow quality would probably sort it out

its pretty random but if you're standing right next to the animal with perfect line of sight and charge fully, it is most likely going to be a hit, also getting to 10MM helped me a lot

Accuracy is a cone of fire. The higher your MM, and presumably the higher one of the bow's quality stats, the narrower the cone gets.

This means pretty much any skill can hit from point blank, but as distances increase high MM becomes necessary to get any type of accuracy.

quality only, or MM dependant?

i got 5mm with low q arrows and bow :/ and 2 out of 3 foxes i shot died in one the last one was hit but not killed :/
