Why isn't this on the map?
I came across a fairly large base that will not appear on my mini-map. This base wasn't here a couple days ago. Is this a bug? Check attachments for picture.

Hmmm, yes. Are you using the default client?

No, I am using Amber. Is that why? When I build new structures they appear immediately on the mini-map though.

Here is another screenshot using the default client. This base is still not showing up on the mini-map.

Wow, I guess I never looked at the mini map closely enough. For some reason I thought the mini map had been displaying walls and building outlines. Now upon taking a closer look it appears to be only showing paved and plowed ground. That makes sense. Thanks guys. I was thinking that this guy might be hacking or something, and that I would need to move my home.

Oh, sorry, I thought the place looked like the tiles were dirt. It is still grass, I see, and that, indeed, is what the minimap shows.

Yeah, the minimap used to show bases because you had to build on paved ground, though houses did show up by default no matter where they were built. (Why aren't they shown now?)
This kind of begs the question: is the need for paving going to show back up, or is it in the game and you're just letting us build anything anywhere so that decay will kill our walls in a month or so?

Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Same as in legacy. Certain terrains didn't require paving to build on. But I can assure you the dark forest biome I live in requires it.MagicManICT wrote:Yeah, the minimap used to show bases because you had to build on paved ground, though houses did show up by default no matter where they were built. Not sure how decay hits work for unpaved buildings though.
