Is this game supposed to be multiplayer?

Post by hitori »

Ok, somewhere on the forum I heard that it's a good idea to find a lonely place for the first settlement, so I made my way to the very bottom map borders searching for a place with small separated forest lake
The thing is.. i havent seen a single player witin like 10+ hours of nonstop walking and ridind horses :!:
not just players i havent seen a single claim 2h+ away from the starting area

Is the map too large for 500 players?
It's not funny. Where the hell is everyone? `

Paranoia and fear run deep in the community and most players hide best they can. Those who don't are near enough to other players as they want to be.

You'll soon realize that every player that you encounter is a potential threat to your character.
The world is huge so that you don't walk 30 min and find every single village/settlement. One may argue that the size of the world is too big, but, in my opinion, it helps a lot with keeping the mystery's neverending charm and it allows for a false sense of security.

You can continue to roam the world in hope of finding someone to play with or you can either ask a friend to join you or simply use the forums to find mates to play with. However, there's always the possibility of being backstabbed.

It is multiplayer, and a sandbox. "Supposed to" only separates the bugs from the features.
Come back two hours earlier.

Not now they aren't! Not enough of the kind/goodly players have been killed off/driven away. Its still a majority of semi-peaceful players, I think.

Many people play this game as a single player or 2-3 player game as hermits, but the feeling of threat and knowing that somewhere somebody lives too makes it more interesting :))

I'm not eager to communicate with other players, cause, well, it's permadeath and people here like to brag about their kills on forums.

Honestly even the larger, more violent factions generally don't raid their neighbors and trade partners. Most players prefer peace when possible, I feel. Violence tends to stem from boredom.

I have like 3-4 closeish neighbours because i dont really give a shit about my character, like looming danger and interracting with other players.

living safely at the edge of the map is only lonely for so long, i think. likely you will be noticed if you procure enough nice shit for people to bother raiding/ trading with you. I can guarantee (with some certainty) some passer by has noticed your camp/ claim and its not gonna be the first one.
Before you take insult to this post, keep in mind that I am simply a warrior of truth.

Yeah, we find randomly killed and skinned animals around every once in awhile and my village is pretty far out of the way. People travel and explorers spot things, so just because you didn't see them doesn't mean they didn't see your home.
