Yes. I guess you can use magic wand on gimp to select whiteish areas. Then just use white color on your selection and you will have 100% white edges.
I guess if you have some fancier program for it or are skilled you can do it some other way.

I figure most normal image editing programs should be able to accomplish that for you. Might want to check out GIMP.

Although it feels wrong that such a small change can reduce the linseed oil requirements to less than 1% of the original image.
Surely a color "field" that is just one pixel should require less oil than a field that covers half the image?
Oh, and if someone ever uses it, please send me a screenshot <3 I'd love to see it in game!

May I suggest having the 'white' parts transparent? Blends with the item cloth texture better
