Can't pass River if personal claim on it?
SO, I was in a boat and came to where someone had part of the swamp claimed on both sides of the river. So now you can't cross rivers in a boat if space is claimed without turning on Criminal Acts? I'm a little hermit I don't do criminal acts. Goes against the carebear code or some such. Suggestions besides turn around? Thanks. PS You guys are doing a great job. Always impressed by what you come up with. Hands down the best game out there. (hugs n stuff)

Thanks! You do need to turn on criminal acts to trespass, but leaving a trespass scent isn't necessarily that big of a deal either. Otherwise you'd have to hike around the claim, I'm afraid.

Re: Can't pass River if personal claim on it?
Why have you done that?!
We have always been able to traverse rivers with claims without leaving scents whilst in a boat before, I understand on foot obviously, but with so many rivers now that is going to make a lot of ppl claim sections of them to prevent access and whilst trespass scents aren't particularly damaging on their own it does ofc enable ppl to track you to your base, which could then be extremely damaging.
I thought you wanted us to travel around, explore and reach different biomes .. rivers are the only way to do so now as so many of them no longer have crossing points.
Sometimes I get the impression you want all the peaceful and smaller grouped players to just disappear and have a world full of full on pvp ... last world you seemed to be making attempts to make life a bit easier for these types of players as well as making it newbie friendly, this is just a step backwards, as was most of the things implemented this world. (Though, ofc you have addressed a lot of that in the last update, for which I am thankful for).
Do you not realise yet that the pvp'ers burn out pretty rapidly into the game, every world, the majority of them quit once their fighters are dead or they have annihilated the opposition and the ones who are left maintaining the game are the non-pvpers?

I am in agreement with Amanda here. Why change something that did not need changing? There have never been a need to toggle criminal acts in a boat before while crossing claims, why add it now?jorb wrote:Thanks! It IS a big deal to leave trespass scents, which is why so many will go to great lengths to avoid it. Please change this.

Also in agreement - i would not boat across a claim if it required me to leave scents. Please change it back to the way it was.

It wasn't an intentional change so much as a consequence of a bug fix. Might change it back.

I know the feeling of this oh so well... I normally label them as features. Then add another feature that was the exact same as the original feature later on and hope nobody notices.jorb wrote:It wasn't an intentional change so much as a consequence of a bug fix. Might change it back.

Pls do seriously consider it, it is going to greatly hamper exploration and resource gathering if we can't use the river systems.jorb wrote:It wasn't an intentional change so much as a consequence of a bug fix. Might change it back.
If not ... paging Loftar! Champion of the peaceful hippies!
