Question about filters

Technical question because I don't understand clients.

In custom clients we're able to remove the darkness filter. Is it just as easy to add a different one?

Changing the colour or more specifically object brightness, shininess, light direction, etc is a matter of modifying a few numbers. Anything else - it depends...
