Adder bite healed while energy below 8k

Apologies if this has been mentioned before or is an intended mechanic.

So I got in a fight with an adder the other day (names were called, plates were thrown, it got ugly) and I noticed last night that while my bites were still present, my energy was below 8k. I meant to eat something but RL happened and I had to log out without making some food. So I jumped into my comfy lil thatched bed for the night, woke up this morning and my bites were all healed and my HP bar was completely full, even though my energy was below 8k.

MadNomad is correct in it is functioning correctly. Characters heal in a bed no matter what your energy level is. Characters can only heal soft hit points while logged in if your energy is over 8000. Wounds heal no matter what, depending on if they heal on their own or the proper treatment is applied, of course.
