If you're playing as the bees, don't build your hive next to a cave. These stinking clay bipeds always hide in them after attempting to take our children!
Best case is to set the hive up in the mountain ranges, where you can tend to your young in peace or at least get the perpetrators.

But.. but if we nest in the mountains how will we pollinate the beautiful bushes and trees in the forest? That would be such a long flight from hive to tree.
