Hey guys, I've been on and off player, last time I checked HnH around March or April, whenever that was, probably when world reset hit.
I wonder, how comes low pop hours have so little players? Haven was more popular than it has ever been in past few years. Something drastic happened with development? Like it took wrong direction? I wouldn't ever think that you could hit only 70 players consecutively online with added benefit of quarantines and even second wave of corona around the place.
Am I just giving Haven too much credit on how popular it is or is something really wrong? Considering coming back so, I'd like to know.

I think there was some 3rd party tool that has tracked the current number of online players since world start, but don't remember the URL.

Has it ever been confirmed exactly what this tracker is tracking? It seems that the top number is within this 940ish region no matter when you look at it over the past few monthsvatas wrote:This might be handy: http://www.havenandhearth.com/portal/track/
I have a feeling it might be tracking ALL server traffic, including website and anything else hosted on it
if it's even working at all

Well there are players out there who raid people and demand money on paypal to stop. They also shut down realm buffs because people didn't pay enough and exchange all services for RMT. So yeah, there may be some wrong direction that the game has took which is causing people to quit.Field wrote: I wonder, how comes low pop hours have so little players? People have been capable of demanding taxes, payment or IRL money in exchange for protection or whatever they want for 10 years. It has definitely happened.shubla wrote:Well there are players out there who raid people and demand money on paypal to stop. Right now, if it is happening at all, it's happening on an incredibly small scale but it's being publicly whined about instead of contested ingame. That's the only difference.
Nothing changed direction to make this a new possibility, it's always been there, all through legacy.
You are only bringing it up because you wrongly think somebody was payed to destroy your base, but I can assure you that the satisfaction of knowing it was yours was probably all the payment that was needed.
The world population falls to rather low numbers near the last few months of the year every time.Field wrote:Hey guys, I've been on and off player, last time I checked HnH around March or April, whenever that was, probably when world reset hit.

It definitely seems to have dropped lower than ever this time around though for sure.
Ultimately it seems to be a reflection of the content and updates (or lackthereof) that was introduced this world.

Re: The amount of players lately

The last world of legacy, was around 2-3 YEARS old and still had more players until the end with 0 marketing effort from devs. It only started to drop when Hafen release was announced.
Legacy had better player inflow/outflow balance. Hafen seems to be losing more than there are new players even when there are marketing efforts from the devs.
Interesting, isn't it?
Sadly there is no older data available.

never played Legacy but I imagine it had no performance problems due to graphics
in 3D Haven once you start packing your village with stuff, you'd need a decent gaming machine
