I was setting up Enders client for the first time, was working, went into a cave to get poppy caps and ghostpipes, found a non-disturbed dust pile at the end of a path, so i checked it to see what's under it, saw a gem, picked it up (hears the discovery sound effect and lp gained from new pick up, saw a question mark start to load in inventory... aaand

Re: Glitched Gemstone(?) causing crash upon log in.
This may have gotten a decent number of views, but no replies anywhere, might as well see about giving more info. This is what i get when i try to log onto my main, who picked up the gem.
https://imgur.com/a/0LCyUQg
I was able to create and run around on an alt. In other words, until something gets figured out, (whether fixing the gem....somehow, or having it get deleted out of my inventory), I'm effectively bricked, currently going on to day 3.
Seeing as i've been playing without much issue for almost 2 weeks now, i didn't think my specs would help, but if they will, I'm on a 2070 super, with a Ryzen 9 3900x 12 core processor, with 32g of ram. (my screen res is big, so i want to scale the UI up, but haven runs out of memory past 1.5x, which leaves the UI still fairly small, so i wanted to see if ender client will let me go higher, and it does...) If there's any other information I could give, let me know.

Village mate here. Client keeps crashing upon loading the inventory containing the "gemstone", but the character still exists in game. As long as he doesn't close the client. Still fully interactable. Help asap would be appreciated, we are considering asking a neighbor with rage to kill the char so we can recover our miner and continue progressing in the game.

That sucks, but seems nobody here has any clue as to what's going on, i've never seen or heard of people finding legit broken items. I'd DM Jorbtar about it, seeing as it's literally gamebreaking for you atm.

Will look at that.

Same thing just happened to me (on an alt account), Mining toon crashed when picking up a gem I'd just mined out
I was using Ender client when it happened but even regular client crashes when I try to log in.

Re: Glitched Gemstone(?) causing crash upon log in.
I've been seeing these error reports lately, but I didn't make the connection that they were all submitted by the same player. Investigating the logs, it became clear that, at the point where you first crashed, your client fetched the gemstone resource from the old-branch resource repository, so you effectively have this problem.
I'm curious how that happened, though. You say that you were in the process of setting up Ender's client, but Ender's client wouldn't normally be fetching resources from the old resource URL. Did this "setting up" that you were doing involve some customization of some kind? In that case, you were probably using outdated URLs. The current resources are in http://game.havenandhearth.com/res/ -- not in http://game.havenandhearth.com/hres/.

Looking at the logs, the exact same thing happened to you.Borg_Stoneson wrote:Same thing just happened to me (on an alt account), Mining toon crashed when picking up a gem I'd just mined out

Re: Glitched Gemstone(?) causing crash upon log in.
For me I started using Ender's client recently but kept getting a "Connection refused: Connect" error. to cut it short I ended up using a Run.bat from a different client and it worked but on checking it it's pointing me towards /hres/ as you said.
Cleared out my cache and fixed the .bat and it's all working now, thank you!

Loftar too smart for his own good. He knew what the problem was and how to fix it two years before it happened.
