Tried it with two build sites. It accepts it if within a nearby stockpile though.

Edit: It wasn't just black pine, tried a block of mirkwood and it also didn't work.

I've spent about an hour online built a timber house and moved some things around. Thinking it has to do with building the timber house. Logged in and out and it fixed the problem.

You have a crafting menu open that requires a block of wood, and it's highlighting it, and reserving it.
