Easter Head Statue

Post by aso11 »

Just a thought some friends of mine were discussing, why can't we have regular statues, like not for a village kind, either carved out of stone or built out of stone. It would be nice for looks
"Normal" is only a difficulty level in video games - Aso11
Jackard: Koya only raises the lynx so he can molest it later
Koya: What means "molest" ? Translator cannot translate it or do it with no logics...
"And no im not native to english, I was born in the usa." - A very bad troll.

Because they would be useless.

Aesthetic fluff is nice, but I'd much rather have somewhat-useful, fun fluff like wagons, or more cooking recipes. Something to keep us going 'til the next update.

I would have thought that a bunch of items that are built, can be moved, and do nothing else, would not take any significant portion of loftars time.

Maybe it'd make Jorb work a bit harder but everyone knows artists are lazy and need to be pushed hard or they won't produce anything :P

Jorb works harder then Loftar, we've had the images for horses, trolls N wolves for HOW long?

No, but I'll explicitly state it, artwork that is actually good is on a higher level.

Though the two really shouldn't be compared, and some 'fluff' would be nice either way.

What you fail to recognize is that programming too can be an art form.
Most people will never see it, though.

We do two separate things that are completely incomparable in terms of time spent. For example: Implementing a new tool object (loom, for example), means I have to draw eight frames of animation of a fairly large object, which will take me at least a couple of hours. Actually implementing that object would take loftar ten minutes. On the other hand, I can draw a mink cage in five minutes, while it would take loftar considerably longer to set that up with all it needs in terms of food meters, draw orders, special modes of interaction and god knows what. Somtimes loftar spends weeks doing shit that doesn't make, as we say, "the shadow of a pixel of a difference" in terms of presented output, but makes a world of difference in terms of behind the scenes action.

I think it is safe to say that we work equally hard, but the tasks aren't comparable.
