Carrot Cake

Post by Millns237 »

Does anyone have any carrot cake or any other food that increases perception. I'm fairly new to this game but i'll try to get whatever you want to trade for the food. I live near /v/illage if anyone knows how to get there.

You should just eat carrots, Carrot cakes are a bit useless since they need butter but don't give much perception FEP's.

so.... not true, id like to see you tell that to the person that gets 14 per fep from a single cake.

though if you can hunt boars and sheep and have a way to get a meat grinder(metal) it might be a good idea to eat lamb sausages which you can make from those materials(+ intestines)

Few problems with the responses here.

First of all Carrot Cake and Lamb Sausages are tied for the best PERception food. Secondly, raising quality of lamb sausages is harder. A quality 100~150 carrot cake is al ot easier than a quality 100~150 lamb sausage.

Carrot Cake is only worth making because you can eat it on a table without 'wasting' it. Carrots are more efficient though, yes.

If you are growing carrots and peas and have a cauldron to make boiled eggs, you might as well be making spring stew. You'll get some equal CHA feps, but if you are also eating carrot cake, you should make out. Boiled eggs simply don't compare on the level of those two unless you have some great eggs, which if the person is asking for carrot cake, I would assume they don't.

As I am a cook and a farmer, with equal skill values in each, let's go over it.

Carrots, q103, 3.2 PER fep @ 1 filling ea = approx 3.2 FEP/FILL;
a crappy q27 carrot cake is 11.5 PER fep @ 3 filling ea = approx 3.8 FEP/FILL;

It would take 3 carrots to reach the same filling, but you'd still have less feps in the end and be fuller if you tried to get to the same feps. So processing your carrots into cake only takes 2 carrots, and will yield more feps overall (even if you have crappy water, crappy butter and a crappy oven - I'm assuming you'd have decent wheat/flour if you make decent carrots).

The only benefit with carrots is you can grow infinite supplies of them and just leave them in the ground until you need them, no storage required.

What am I missing?

boiled eggs are just an FEP reducer that happens to give per. and yes, spring stew is also an option.

Carrot cakes require 2 carrots and take more work to make. It's lost time as a disadvantage, mostly.

Which is why buying carrot cake is great, making it however isn't. It's easier to make lamb sausage.
