The only reason you say that is because you're male and don't have to put up with your gender being constantly ignored. If someone had said "women" instead of "men" when referring to people in a gender-neutral way, how would that make you feel?

Funny thing, I was going to use spongebob as example of the same thing, as bad as all the noize around MLP. It was a same kind of trend when I was at highschool (about 7-8 years ago). People claimed to love it just to be kool kidz, when they never watched more than 3 episodes. MLP is not the first infantile fasion in the world and probably not the last, but it is definitely the most disgusting of all at the time. "Bronies" shitting everything around just to let other cool kids know they exist, pretending to love a bad cartoon (yes, you heard me, it is bad, there is no good plot or graphics, normal grown ups can love cartoons, but not a bad ones, real love to MLP is a rare exception) just to show how special they are and to make people notice them. Just ew.
