Logging in and out of different characters is the best way to reproduce it. Eventually white dots, critters, and forage icons appear and stay until you close the client.

I understand correctly - minimap tiles are correct, but radar icons are not?
Yep. And sometime the map tile you're standing on flickers, seems to be replaced with the graphics of a tile paving. Seems to happen when a map tile is updated.
Will downloading this client save my data from the normal game? Or will i need to start over on a different world?

Yes. All data is saved on server, so it does not matter what client you use.
Client updated:
added option to turn simple crops on
added option to display crop growth (ALT+I, or Options->Display), gob health is tied to it too
how about hide trees and buildings? or did i not find the CTRL+ option
P.S. also can you add in a feature to add multiple things to the stockpile? i like the option take the amount i want but my finger gets tired putting things in

Shift+right-click an item from the hand onto the stockpile in world, or shift+wheel over the window.
